Thank you for signing up to be your class photographer! We appreciate your help and look forward to a great yearbook this year! Here are some tips to set you on your way.
As class photographer, it is your responsibility to go into the classroom 1-3 times over the school year to take pictures of the kids in action. Please schedule these visits through one of your room parents. Why this extra step instead of working with the teacher directly? Because if we multiply 2 class photographers times 2-3 visits during the year, the yearbook has just increased the teacher’s e-mail correspondence by at least 4 messages, and we all know that figuring out a date can take many back-and-forth messages. If you can possibly schedule all your photography dates at one time, all the better.
Now on to the pictures!
Please make sure your camera is set to one of the highest resolutions available to you. High resolution yields the best photos.
Anything you can capture will be great! But here are a few helpful hints:
- Try to capture as many of the students as possible so that the whole class is covered.
- Try to shoot different quantities of people: some of one person, some of 2 people, some of 3, etc.
- The best shots are those of kids “doing something” – raising their hand, reading together, writing, etc.
- You don’t have to stick to the classroom – hallways and locker shots, etc. are fun too.
- Try to get down to their level, as opposed to shooting down on the kids.
- Since the kids change so much during the school year, try to get some shots in the winter months.
- Whenever you have a batch of photos, here are uploading instructions:
- Upload yearbook pictures here.
- After the photos are uploaded, please type in as much identifying information as possible: the childrens’ names, grade or teacher are all helpful.
- And finally, all photos need to be uploaded by Friday, Feb 3. And thanks again for your time and effort!
Sincerely, Sharon Panzica, yearbook editor
