The cafeteria staff counts on parent volunteers to help serve lunch on a daily basis. Without the parents, the staff would not be able to prep, cook, serve, monitor the line and clean up. The PTA has come up with a way to help them out, by providing parent volunteers to help serve and monitor the lines. It’s a fun way to see your children in their own environment and become familiar with the new friends they have made at McKenzie. There are 2 servers and 1 line monitor everyday lunch is served. You can sign up for a day or more, depending on what suits you.
Sign Up is now available online.
Please contact Michele Coffey with any questions.
Time Commitment: 11:10am – 1:00pm
Server: Serve lunch to the children, teachers and staff as they come through the line. The cooks will let volunteers know what they will be serving, how much to serve, etc. No accompanying infant or toddler siblings are permitted.
Line Monitor: This volunteer will manage the line of children as they wait to be served in the cafeteria, allowing 3 or 4 children in at a time to keep the path between the kitchen and the serving area clear.
For health code reasons, please remember to wear your hair in a ponytail OR a baseball hat, otherwise you may be required to wear a hairnet.
REMINDER: IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO COME ON YOUR DAY, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING A SUBSTITUTE!
