We encourage you to sit in the back or bring headphones to mitigate sound and music. Spotlights will be used throughout the performance.

Uniform Drive for Carman Buckner Students Extended to March 7
Now through Friday, March 7, please donate clean white tops (polo, button- down, or nice t-shirts) and navy pants to the collection bin in the lobby. Girls’ uniforms (sizes 6-16) are needed most at this time, but boys’ uniforms are also being accepted. Please only donate new or gently-used shirts and pants. Thank you! The Sharing Committee
Pot O’ Gold Staff Appreciation Raffle: March 17-21.
Our children have “lucked out” with their wonderful McKenzie teachers; now let’s show the staff a wee bit of luck of their own! Raffle prize donations accepted now through Wednesday, March 12th by the Staff Appreciation Committee. Please see the PTA website for more information–and thank you for sharing the Luck of the Irish with the McKenzie staff!
Indoor Recess Monitors / Volunteers Needed
Help break the monotony of this long brutal winter! Volunteer to become an indoor recess monitor. The school has approved the idea of a parent volunteer led indoor recess option. A few tables and chairs can be set up in the lobby area. Kids who do not want to be in the auditorium can sit and read, quietly chat with one another, play games or draw. This option will only be made available to the kids if the area is staffed with a parent volunteer. For more info, and to volunteer to work a shift please click the link to the Sign Up Genius: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0A4AAEA62A1-indoor
Student Council March Collection
“One Can Count” collection for March. Student Council will be collecting gently used books for its March collection. The books will be donated to Bernie’s Book Bank which takes books to under- served schools in the Chicagoland area.
Volunteer Safety Monitors
Please help us ensure the safe arrival and departure of McKenzie students by volunteering to help drivers properly navigate through the pickup and drop off zones. Volunteers will be informed of all traffic guidelines, and will help drivers who have questions, or inform drivers of the school guidelines and Illinois law. We will continue to get assistance from the Wilmette Police, but would appreciate a few more hands. Sign up to volunteer here.
PTA Garden Chair Needed for 2014-2015
Share your knowledge of plants, crafting and by teaching in the McKenzie gardens. The garden is a popular recess alternative as well as a teaching space for our teachers and students. If you love the gardens, but your skill set is more administrative, two individuals can serve as co-chairs. Contact Michelle Irvin at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Don’t forget to order your Birthday Book now – it’s not too late. Your child will get to choose a new book with the help of the librarian during his/her birthday or half-birthday month! Please visit the Birthday Books page: http://mckenziepta.com/birthday-books/. Thank you for supporting the McKenzie Library Media Center! For questions, contact Rebecca Lieber at email@example.com.
Grocery Dollars are gifts cards that are purchased and used like cash at the grocery store (Jewel/Osco, Treasure Island, and Fresh Market). The Grocery Dollars team purchases these gift cards at a 5% discount and then this discount is passed onto the McKenzie PTA. Monthly subscriptions are available (with home delivery) or you may purchase the Grocery Dollar gift cards at PTA meetings. A fantastic fundraiser!
