McKenzie Gardens Volunteers Needed
The McKenzie Gardens are open and a few spots for parent volunteers are still needed. The McKenzie Gardens are open to students during their lunch recess times for Outdoor Classroom; the kids are free to explore the gardens, dig in the dirt, turn the compost, help with weeding, do a scavenger hunt or complete an art project. Spring is exciting as everything starts to bloom, and the kids can help plant seeds and small plants. We need volunteers for one or both shifts on Mondays and Fridays during the fall to supervise and help the kids. Wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to get a little dirty. No previous garden experience needed. First Shift: 11:25 – 12:45 Second and Third Grades | Second Shift: 12:30 – 1:45 First and Fourth Grades NOTE: If you can no longer volunteer for your shift, you must find a replacement. **Younger siblings are welcome to come but should not need 1-on-1 supervision or interfere with the McKenzie students’ experience. Best age: 3 and above** Sign up at mckenziepta.com.
