Storytown was a company that came to McKenzie to teach first-grade students about acting and improvisation.
They used student suggestions and ideas to create an improvised story that they acted out on stage for the students to see. Immediately following the performance, one actor or actress then came to each first-grade classroom to teach the kids even more about improvisation. In this setting, the actors engaged the kids in a hands-on experience with acting, fine arts and improvisation. The kids were able to use their creativity and imagination to create their own storylines. The first graders truly enjoyed the Storytown experience!
