Hello Fourth Grade Parents,

It’s hard to believe that our Cheetahs are beginning the second half of their final year at McKenzie! We have MANY special events planned for May of this year to honor our students – and we need your help to make them happen!

This webpage outlines all of the exciting events and needed volunteers. Please review and sign-up to lend your talents. We will recruit volunteers in April.

Questions? Reach out to Kim Quigley or Kristen Kwasnick, Fourth Grade Farewell Co-Chairs (contact details in Membership Toolkit)

This website will remain up to date through the end of the year with all of the information parents need to know.

We’re looking forward to making the end of school an amazing celebration for our 4th graders! Thanks in advance for your help.

Fourth Grade End of Year Celebration Events

    • Seeking a mom or group of moms AND dad or group of dads to host at their home(s) or organize at a local bar / restaurant – this can be funded via donations from the host(s) or via suggested contribution from guests or pay your own way if at restaurant / bar

    • Note: separate nights for moms & dads

    • To volunteer, reach out to Kim / Kristen directly

    • This offsite trip to Boundless Adventures occurs during the school day and is run by the school/teachers

    • Families asked to pay approximately $85 per student (payment will be via PowerSchool)

    • More details to come

  • Outdoor Ed themed activities throughout the day at McKenzie – organized and run by McK teachers and staff

    • Evening scavenger hunt, pizza, and s’mores for our 4th graders at Gillson Beach (hosted by Northwest Passage); 5 – 7:30 PM

    • Funded by the PTA

    • 20 parent volunteers needed to serve as chaperones for this event – sign-ups will take place in April

  • Afternoon celebration and fair at McKenzie, including lunch, a slide show, a craft, and a fair with bounce house, dunk tank, DJ, and photo booth for all 4th graders! This is planned and implemented entirely by parents.  We need LOTS of help! Volunteer to work the celebration itself from roughly noon until the end of school on Wednesday, June 4.  We need a LARGE number of volunteers to make this happen, and historically many parents attend to see their kids (similar to field day).  Note: the only way to come see your kid at the fair will be as a volunteer.  Block your calendars now to hold the time if you’d like to participate!

Please sign-up by reaching out to Kim / Kristen directly.

  • All 4th grade parents are invited to celebrate the 4th graders by "clapping them out" as they leave McKenzie for the last time. The last day of school is always early dismissal – no volunteers needed.  More details to come!
